The objects illustrated below were originally derived
from electrocardiograph readings taken during tests for arrhythmia.
The test involved a period of monitoring lasting 24 hours which revealed
a number of irregularities - including occasions in which the heart
missed a beat. The works in Cardiac Pause are
lathed models taken from the graph as it records the noise of static
electricity that traverses the surface of heart during the period
between beats.
The ecg information particular to each pause has been scanned into a computer
from printed output, lathed in a modelling application and an image extrapolated
from this model.
